The Ariel Center
The Ariel Center's goal is to help the people of Israel heal, rebuild and strengthen themselves, using sport as a medium to transform despair into hope, and adversity into strength.
Every single Israeli knows someone who was murdered, kidnapped, or injured since October 7. Now is the time to provide essential support to millions of Israelis coping with unfathomable trauma and challenges.
Our Mission and Vision
Empowering and Healing
Israelis Through Sports.
Since October 7th, there has been a 476% increase in calls to the Israel National Mental Health Hotline, with more than 500,000 Israelis at risk of developing PTSD.
The Ariel Center prioritizes and advances the wellbeing of those whose lives have been impacted by hardship and are at a higher than usual risk of developing negative, and sometimes debilitating and/or life-
threatening, mental health disorders.
At the Ariel Center, sport is our medium to transform despair into hope, and adversity into strength.
In cooperation with the Israeli government we are in the process of building a sports complex in Kiryat Malachi, within a ten minute drive from three major army bases. The Ariel Center, spread out over 6 dunams (1.5 acres) allocated by the Israeli government will include . facilities ranging from a running track to hydrotherapy pools, climbing walls to dance studios, dormitories to therapeutic gardens and more.
Following October 7, the Center started programming: To date, two thousand children evacuated from their homes and
temporarily housed in Jerusalem were transported daily to rented facilities where a team of staff ran activities to reduce stress and foster positive personal and group development. The Center is expanding
this form of programming to cater to the needs of reservists returning to civilian life and soldiers in active duty.
